i met 2girls on the night bus - Vicky (from the netherlands) and Alice, from the UK! e arrived in about 9.00am and were dropped right outside the hostel..what luxury! after breakie we walked across the river that runs through the center of Hue to the Citadel. this is where rhe Emperor lived before the Americans bombed it. it was a lovely big area of various out houses and gardens surrounded by a moat - ot would have been a beautiful place to live in its hey day - they were doing quite a lot of restoration to the buildings. we then had lunch amd chilled out in the hostel for a bit before hittong thw eveninh night markers and dinner at one of the market food stalls on the river. it was lovely and we joined another girl from the hostel and were joined by a few others so veey social!
