Final Year as a Fashion Marketing Student!!...

...So, my final year of Fashion Marketing at Northumbria was probably the best, most stressful year of my life!! Here's a snapshot of it...

My concept was: Adaptable travel wear for the fashion conscious backpacker; to encourage packing less with maximum versatility - The essential travel wardrobe!

Initial Inspiration
The initial inspiration for ‘Take Me Away’ was from a personal short backpacking holiday to Thailand in August 2009. It was an unfamiliar destination, and as a result, one packed too much to cover unknown eventualities. Additionally, there was also a desire to look good. There are a range of people that travel around these countries including groups who are young, sophisticated and image-focused travellers. They are more commonly known as ‘Flashpackers’.

...Modelled by the lovely Charlotte John, we had a busy 2 days shooting at 3 locations; the beach at Tynemouth, two waterfalls about 2 hours outside of Newcastle and finally the studio at uni.
We started at 4am to catch the sunrise at Tynemouth...it looked so gorgeous and exotic but it was 1 degrees, brrrr!!...

...then a two hour drive to two gorgeous waterfalls...luckily it got a bit warmer, and we were so lucky with the weather - blue, clear skies!...

...after a good sleep we were up bright and breezy for more photos in the studio at uni...

...my friend from uni, Karina modelled the Kaftan and Bikini...

...finally, demonstrating how The Byron Jacket folds away and how the dress can be adjusted to change the silhouette...

...the final collection with the accessories; an expandable bag, travel pillow and the promotional passports...

Overall I was so pleased with how it all went. The locations I chose really captured a gorgeous, fashionable girl travelling to exotic countries in her practical, adaptable wardrobe!! :-)
